This page is intended to stimulate debate on the optimal direction of research in nutritional metabolomics. The first major bottleneck in nutritional metabolomics is the need to define and to quantify the human nutritioanl metabolome and that is a major task of this NuGO wiki. However there are a number of areas where we need to have global collaboration in optimising the research roadmap some of which will require large collaborative studies in healthy humans. These issues include

• Sample collection standardisation
• Improved megavariate data analysis
• Acute effects of nutrient challenges
• Chronic effects of nutrient challenges
• The role of phytochemicals
• The role of the gut microflora
